We strongly encourage you to read the supporting Draft Manukau North Shoreline Adaptation Plan (SAP) report before providing feedback. 

This report includes the purpose and scope of the plan and implementation, Manukau North context (i.e. cultural, environmental settings), overview of iwi and community engagement to date, and guidance for implementation of each adaptive strategy.

Adaptation strategies for the Draft Manukau North SAP

We listened to feedback from the community, including iwi, advice from specialists considering environmental and policy issues, and guidance from asset owners.

We have identified the following coastal adaptation strategies in the Manukau North area for the short (0-20 years), medium (20- 60 years) and long term (60 – 100 years).

The Manukau North Shoreline Adaptation Plan area extends from Onehunga in the east to Whatipu in the West, across seven 'units':

  1. Hillsborough
  2. Waikōwhai
  3. Blockhouse Bay / Green Bay
  4. Titirangi / Wood Bay
  5. Big Muddy Creek
  6. Karangahape / Cornwallis
  7. Huia.
