Love local, get vocal and help shape your Local Board Plan 2020

The Ōrākei Local Board has developed a three-year plan outlining the key initiatives we want to focus on to help our communities thrive and support the recovery from the impacts of COVID-19. Now we need your help to check if we’ve got it right.

Our plan has five proposed outcomes:

  1. Our communities are connected, engaged and resilient (page 11 of plan)
  2. Our land, forests, waterways and marine environment are protected, restored and enhanced (page 15)
  3. All parks and open space areas are attractive and well-used places for both active and passive recreation (page 19)
  4. Our transport infrastructure is efficient and connected, enabling people to move around safely and effectively using a range of options (page 22)
  5. Our town centres and local businesses are increasingly vibrant and prosperous (page 27)

Have a look at the plan for more details of what we will do to deliver on these outcomes and take the survey to tell us what's most important and what's missing.

Our 2020 Local Board Plan proposals are open for feedback until Thursday 13 August.

So love local and get vocal about your community by having your say. We'd love to hear from you.

Why is the Mission Bay Bowling club, zoned for recreation, being put for sale. As a member of the community we DO NOT WANT THIS FOR SALE. We have made suggestions it could become a garden. What is happening with this?

Martine Smith asked 3 months ago

Kia ora, thank you for your question.

No decision to sell the reserve has been made yet. The Ōrākei Local Board is looking at possible new uses for the reserve and plans to work with the community on these soon. Please contact your Local Board members if you would like to discuss any ideas you or others in the community might have.

Please advise the status of the future use of the Mission Bay Bowling Club?

    Kia Ora,

Thank you for your question. The Local Board is working closely with the Mission Bay community to determine the local needs for recreational and community uses for the site. Let us know your ideas for this space by filling out our survey, or contacting the Mission Bay-Kohimarama Residents’ Association.
