Bill from Bensonover 4 years agoSpeed identification signs required on residential "shortcut" roads.
There is an increasing risk to pedestrian safety and quiet use of your property from speeding noisy vehicles transiting (short-cutting) through residential roads. If the excessive speeds are identified and visible to the drivers it will reduce speeds and associated noise. The example, cars leaving Remuera Road, transiting through Lucerne, Benson, to Upland road, avoiding the lights at Remuera and Upland. I am sure other like roads through residential areas in the Orakei area have similar issues.
1 comment2Ursyover 4 years agoMake Remuera shops child-friendly
Currently Remuera shops are unappealing to families with young children. Perhaps a small playground/jungle gym (similar to 277 upstairs) factored into the new Village Green development would entice those with young families to visit the shops?
0 comment1JudeHarryover 4 years agoWaitatarua off lead dog park
This is one of the best dog parks in Auckland. People come from all over the city to run their dogs off lead here. Local people walk, run and bike with or without dogs and it works well. The only problem I see, is that it is a bit confusing which parts are off lead and which are not. Why not make the whole park off lead except for the wetlands , children’s playground and carpark. As this park is water logged for several months of the year , the idea that it should be a picnic area is ridiculous
0 comment8Nicala Wheatonover 4 years agoWe need speed bumps on Michael's Ave!!
There have been a fair few near misses of children crossing the road at Michael's ave park. there is no respect from everyone who constantly goes speeding down the street and its only a matter of time before there is something serious. Seed bumps would be a good way to get this under control!!
1 comment2Auckland Orakei local boardover 4 years agoMadills Farm - Share the park
I would like to be assured that we will have continued access to all of Madill’s Farm for dog walking as well as the soccer club. I have supported the football club for many years but do not want exclusive access for them only. The park was gifted as a community facility.
