phillabout 3 years agoTool Library / Sharing Centers
Create council-backed libraries for items and goods that are used infrequently - such as Lawn Mowers, Sports Equipment, Gazebo's, Drills, Board Games, Childrens Toys etc. This will cut down on the amount of rubbish going to landfill and provides low-cost access for everyone to these items. The Toronto Tool Library in Canada is a great working example of this.

I was thinking about pedestrian traffic lights on the zebra crossing in the middle of the Ellerslie shops, so every one gets a turn, including the traffic. It would help make Ellerslie residents and school children safer and probably improve the traffic flow, especially at rush hour and school's out.
1 comment2JDabout 3 years agoWaiatarua Park should remain fully leashed anything else is madness
Waiatarua Reserve should remain fully off leash, builds community sprite and a fun place to exercise, be with friends, family and dogs. Full integration and a great place to be for everyone.
0 comment8KashSabout 3 years agoMore Youth Events
Free and engaging events for youth in the area especially during school breaks and oppurtunity for teenagers to volunteer and connect with their locals.
0 comment3Kel20about 3 years agoMore sustainable playgrounds & community edible gardens (orakei to st Heliers)
I’d love to see more eco design / nature play kids playgrounds around orakei / st Heliers. Compete with edible gardens for the community - integrated in the design would be great. A play space like Margaret Mahy park in Christchurch with more eco focus. Designer Cath Hamilton did an amazing job there. More swings at st Heliers beach playground for babies and sail shades. Swings & climbing frames activated down beaches like they do in waiheke near kohi end as you walk around.
