Timeline for the Annual Plan 2026/2027
The Mayoral Proposal is the first step taken to develop our annual and long-term plans and budgets. It outlines the mayor’s vision and priorities for Auckland.
In the months after the Mayoral Proposal is released, our Governing Body discusses the options and develops a proposed annual plan.
Public consultation for the Annual Plan 2026/2027 opens in February 2026. This is when you can have your say and leave any feedback you have about the mayor's proposals.
Elected members of the Governing Body then consider your feedback as they make final decisions for the plan.
The Governing Body will usually adopt the final annual plan at the end of June each year. The plan will then take effect from 1 July, the first day of the new financial year.
