What we are planning for our built environment in the Annual Plan 2026/2027.

In the 2026/2027 financial year, we plan to:

  • work with Kāingā Ora, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and other central government agencies to continue building infrastructure in Māngere, Tāmaki and Mt Roskill
  • continue developments in the city centre, including:
  • continue working on projects like the Drury development
  • decide which locations we should develop next, such as Northcote, Henderson, Avondale or Manukau
  • continue to look for new areas to develop and grow based on:
    • need
    • the effects of developing in these areas
    • how the council can support these projects.

for day-to-day running costs, like staff, maintenance and services.

for major upgrades or long-term assets, like housing and infrastructure.
