Help us plan for the future of our shoreline
We are preparing shoreline adaptation plans across the region in partnership with mana whenua and local communities.
Shoreline adaptation plans:
- look at how we can adapt Auckland Council-owned land and assets to respond to coastal hazards and climate change over the next 100 years
- promote the preservation and restoration of the coastal environment for future generations.
What we want your feedback on
We want to know how you use, and what you value about:
- the Tāmaki Estuary shoreline
- the Bucklands Beach to Pine Harbour shoreline.
This will help us to:
- identify areas of importance to the community
- understand community values and connections to the coast
- make suitable plans to help manage the changing shorelines.
Consultation on the DRAFT Tāmaki Estuary and Bucklands Beach to Pine Harbour Adaptation Strategies is open until the 18th of November 2024.
