rcv.e.ratepayersover 4 years agoFootpath on Ahuroa Road for Ahuroa school children
There are plenty of urban footpaths but what about our precious rural children. Ahuroa school has a roll 65 primary students in a fast-growing rural area. Children who live within a 3 km radius of school are not entitled to ride the local school bus. Ahuroa road has a small amount of seal but is predominately gravel, narrow and dangerous without grass verges. Rodney Local Board should make a footpath a priority in the Local Board Plan.

0 comment5rcv.e.ratepayersover 4 years agoDeliver the $121 million promised for Rodney rural road sealing from the Regional Fuel Tax.
The Mayor, and Rodney First announced a deal to have $121 million for road sealing over ten years. $85 million from the regional fuel tax plus $36 million from General Rates. The bulk of this promise has been deferred and last year only $4.7 million was delivered. This deferment will continue for the next 5 years. We PAY NOW, we need ROADS SEALED NOW. We want a continuous funding of $12.1 million per annum … it is OUR money. We need the RLB to strongly advocate for funding otherwise it is going to take 700 years to seal Rodney Rural Roads.
1 comment9Romover 4 years agoI want Rodney Local Board to stop leasing land under their management to the Warkworth Rodeo or any other rodeo show
Rodney Ward is a progressive region with a growing and increasingly diverse population. It is not acceptable in 2020 for Council to support in any way, activities, including rodeo, which include animal cruelty and exploitation for human entertainment. It is not acceptable for council managed land to be used for such activities, which normalise violence towards animals. I would like to see the land used for family friendly entertainment such as folk festivals, craft fairs, zero waste food and wine festivals, and for the younger people how about a World Class skatepark right here in Rodney.
1 comment8Ireenpotter46over 4 years agoFootpaths on both sides of SH16 right through Kaukapakapa village. LOWER SPEED LIMIT. Drivers disregard the 50K limit. No engine braking.
I live at 1084 Kaipara Coast Highway Kaukapakapa right opposite the pub. We are on a corner, and have noticed that the logging, milk, transport, cattle trucks take no notice of the speed limit, along with most of the regular traffic. Our village is growing fast. We need signs like Waitoki has. Well before both entrances to the village. many thanks for your interest. Ireen Potter (no relation to Harry)
