About the Pukekohe Masterplan
Pukekohe is expected to grow by 50,000 people over the next 20 years. Now is the time to consider and plan for this. We want to make it an even better place to live, work and relax.
The Pukekohe Masterplan proposes changes to Pukekohe’s town centre. It shows how the town centre could change over time, and the benefits this will bring.
The masterplan proposes key projects to drive change in Pukekohe. It will allow for:
• new activities and events
• people to make new, safer connections
• improved parking
• the upgrade of character buildings
• many other benefits over time.
Our plan considers feedback from previous consultations.
It maintains the unique character of Pukekohe town centre while ensuring it remains a place where people enjoy spending time.

Key projects
Roulston Park and Pukekohe Skate Park upgrade
We plan to upgrade the local playground and provide a space our community can come together with BBQ facilities.
Market Street and Market Hall upgrade
A new home for the Farmers’ Market with space to meet and eat. The site at 1 Roulston Street will be developed to celebrate the heritage of Pukekohe. It will include small improvements to the connecting roads, footpaths and town square, and provide spaces to meet and eat.We are proposing these changes:
• The character building will provide a more permanent home for the farmers' market.
• The town square will be reconfigured to better accommodate market activities and provide space for other events.
• Devon Lane and Roulston Street upgrades will slow traffic speeds alongside the new Market Hall. This will make it safer our community to enjoy the public space and enable the market to safely extend out onto the widened footpaths.
Edinburgh Street development
A Laneway dining district is proposed as part of the Edinburgh Street development A new laneway between Franklin: The Centre and the town square will improve access to the town and provide an exciting new space.
The laneway could become a new dining district. Approximately 2,000 people could work above this dining district, or 500 people could live here instead.
Parking and crossing upgrades
Parking closest to King Street will be prioritised for short-stay shoppers and visitors.
We will change the existing parking on Roulston Street and Graham Street from parallel to angle parking. This will maximise the number of parking spaces.
The car parks on the top half of the Farmers building will be made safer and easier to access at any time.
Auckland Transport has also proposed new zebra crossings within the town centre. Traffic lights have also been proposed at two key intersections. This will address safety issues and streamline traffic flow.
Massey Avenue development and Roulston Lane upgrade
This site could provide new commercial, retail, or residential space in the heart of Pukekohe.
As part of this upgrade, Roulston Lane could provide new ground-level spaces for shops and eateries.
Civic Hub enhancements
We plan to enhance the area outside the entrance to Franklin: The Centre. This will create more inviting spaces for people to sit, meet and eat.
Hall Lane to Stadium Drive footbridge construction
A footbridge from Hall Lane to Stadium Drive will provide a safer way for people to move between Roulston Park and the skate park, and Pukekohe’s town centre.

These projects are shared in the masterplan and will be delivered over several years.
