Co-design process

The concepts were informed by a series of co-design sessions with a local advisory group through sustained engagement in late 2020 and early 2021. The group includes representatives from Mana Whenua, Business Manukau, local organisations such as The Roots, Mau Studios, MIT, AUT, Cause Collective and local Auckland Council entities (Manukau Library, the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board etc).


May → June 2021

Installation

The upgrades will be installed in Osterley Way. This includes making Osterley Way a shared space with a one-way road layout north of Putney Way. 

There will also be a bus-only section on Osterley Way between Manukau Station Rd and Putney Way. Access to the Manukau Civic Buidling will be maintained.

Launch event

A launch event in Manukau Square from 11am - 3pm. Family friendly.

June → August 2021

Feedback and adjustments

The local community can submit feedback about the trial. Adjustments will be made based on feedback. Feedback will be open until 31 August 2021.

September 2021

Next steps decided

Based on the feedback and data gathered, a decision will be made about the long-term future of the trial.
