Transport
What we are planning for transport in the Annual Plan 2026/2027.

Our transport investments will focus on:
- renewing and maintaining our networks
- fixing roads
- improving public transport.
In the 2026/2027 financial year, we plan to:
- continue to improve how we manage transport. This will help us provide a great passenger experience and safer, more reliable and efficient public transport
- support the development of the 30-year Auckland Integrated Transport Plan. This will provide Aucklanders with better access to public transport and a better-connected, more efficient transport system
- continue building the Eastern Busway to support the opening of the City Rail Link (CRL) in 2026
- continue removing level crossings at Glen Innes and Takanini train stations. This will make the station safer and easier to access
- deliver other planned works including:
- renewing council assets like roads, bus stops and stations, footpaths and bridges
- road safety projects
- replacing ferries
- building Rosedale bus station
- improving Carrington Road to make it safer, easier to access and to allow for more vehicles.
