We are planning to build a new skate park in Sunnynook Square on Sunnynook Road, near the existing basketball court.
This will replace the old and isolated skate bowl in Sunnynook Park.
We are also considering installing a BMX bike pump track as a future development at Sunnynook Park.
The proposed location for this facility is south of the existing skate bowl, near the exercise equipment.
About the proposed skate park design
The skate park layout is loosely based on the design created by community members in 2016.
Under the Sunnynook Plan 2018, we committed to investigating the delivery of wheeled sports options to cater to the area’s growing population.
What we want your feedback on
We’d like to hear your thoughts on the proposed concept design for the skate park.
We’d also like to know if you are in favour of a BMX bike pump track in our proposed location in Sunnynook Park.
When you can have your say
You can have your say from 9am, Monday 25 October to 5pm, Friday 12 November 2021.

There is currently a gap for wheeled sports facilities in the Sunnynook area. The Devonport-Takapuna Local Board are considering funding the installation of a skate park at Sunnynook Square. They are also considering the future installation of a BMX pump track at Sunnynook Park.
