Text: We’ve written a plan for 2023-2025.

Text: Here’s some of what we’re planning.

Text: Ō Tātou Tāngata – Our People. We want to make sure our people are resilient, connected and engaged, have pride in Manurewa and enjoy life, diversity and feel safe.

Text: Tō Tātou Hapori – Our Community. We want to have great services, facilities and gathering spaces for our community to enjoy, offer choices for everyone to take part in sports, recreation, play and create and adapt to changing needs of our community.

Text: Tō Tātou Taiao – Our Environment. We want to protect, restore and enhance our environment, care for our national treasures, waterways and urban forest, reduce our carbon footprint, greenhouse gas emissions and waste and build community resilience to climate change effects.

Text on screen: Tā Tātou Ōhanga – Our Economy. We want to have a thriving local economy and town centre, ensure people can live, work and play close to home, have business investment, with local people in quality local jobs and make sure youth are prepared for and engaged in work.

Text: Ō Tātou Wāhi – Our Places. We want to attract quality employment, community, and sustainable outcomes that meet our growing needs and have an accessible transport network that is affordable and offers choice.

Text: Many of our buildings are old, under-used, and need investment to make them safe and inviting.

Text: We also own buildings we lease to community groups, yet we fund the maintenance; those groups provide services you value.

Text: We will have a shortfall in our budget over the next 10 years. We can’t afford to maintain or upgrade all the buildings and facilities we own.

Text: We may need to change how we deliver our services, so you can still use them without going to a set place.

Text: We must make decisions....like selling some facilities to fund others, having groups maintain them, or changing how we do things to deliver services without buildings.

Text: We won’t be making quick decisions. We need to understand which facilities you value most, which need improvements, and which could be sold.
