We publish a long-term plan (10-year budget) every three years. If adopted, this will come into effect in July 2024.

The Mayoral Proposal is the first step taken to develop our annual budgets and long-term plans (10-year budgets). The proposal outlines the issues our mayor considers most important for Auckland.

In the months after the Mayoral Proposal is released, our Governing Body discusses the options and develops a proposed long-term plan.

Public consultation on the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 will open on 28 February 2024 at 12pm (noon) and will close on 28 March at 11.59pm. This is when you can have your say about the proposed long-term plan.

The Governing Body will consider your feedback and make final decisions for the plan.

We expect the Governing Body will approve the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 in late June 2024.
