Consultation has concluded

About the Landing

The Landing is a busy park on the seaward side (side nearest the sea) of Tāmaki Drive in Ōkahu Bay. It offers a variety of marine-related sport and recreation activities on the Waitematā Harbour.

2022 consultation

In 2022 we proposed three concepts for public consultation to meet increased community demands and improve access to The Landing for everyone.

We wanted to find out what Aucklanders would like to see included in an updated plan for The Landing.

Based on the feedback from the consultation and written submissions, Ōrākei Local Board approved the following design features from Concept 3, for the updated plan:

  • a central park-like space for leisure activities and marine events
  • multi-purpose buildings for new and existing clubs, and other activities
  • storage space for boats and marine equipment
  • all abilities and safe harbour access.

What we are proposing next

The Ōrākei Local Board are consulting again on their vision for the site with an updated version of Concept 3.

Although the draft concept does not include a hardstand (boat yard) facility, the local board will consider all feedback and suggestions.
