Help us plan for the future of our shoreline

We are preparing shoreline adaptation plans (SAPs) across the region in partnership with mana whenua and local communities.

Shoreline adaptation plans:

  • look at how we can adapt Auckland Council-owned land and assets to respond to coastal hazards and climate change over the next 100 years
  • promote the preservation and restoration of the coastal environment for future generations.

What we want your feedback on

We want to know how you use and what you value about:

  • the Pākiri to Mathesons Bay shoreline
  • the Ti point to Sandspit shoreline
  • the Snells Beach to Ōrewa shoreline.

This will help us to:

  • identify areas of importance to the community
  • understand community values and connections to the coast
  • make suitable plans to help manage the changing shorelines.
