Have your say on park development in Riverhead

The Rodney Local Board are consulting on concept plans that are proposed for park development in Riverhead, including Riverhead War Memorial Park, Riverhead Point Drive and Deacon Point.

The concept plans have been developed based on feedback from the community and what they want to see in the area.

We would like your feedback on the designs. Please refer to the Draft Concept Plan and provide your feedback below.

Has a playground at the Murray Jones reserve been considered, because I feel if not this is a missed opportunity, the use of the hill could create a snakes and ladders themed playground as seen in farm cove Pakuranga, Bramly drive. This would be fun for all ages and I feel it would suit the community of Riverhead really well. Also has the idea of creating a riverside path leading from deacon point playground potentially to the Murray Jones Reserve? I feel this track would be used alot and maybe it could connect to the Riverhead Tavern creating a nice place to stop for lunch between the 2 destinations.

Thank you for your interest and ideas.

A playspace at Murray Jones Reserve has been identified as a possibility in the future however it was not concluded to be a priority this time around.

Unfortunately funding availability does not currently stretch to provide for a walkway of such scale.

Your feedback in relation to both play and walkways will be recorded and considered moving forward.
