What we are proposing

The existing playground at Point Erin Pools is approaching the end of its life and needs to be replaced.

What we want your feedback on

We want your feedback on the three proposed concept designs and which option you would like to see used.

Option 1: In the treetops

  • Natural style.
  • Views and outlook over mature trees.
  • Challenging climbing.
  • Long slide.
  • Swings, balancing, music and seesaw at ground level.

Option 2: Mythical Sea creature

  • Looks like a serpent.
  • Challenging climbing.
  • Trampolines and spinners.
  • Overhead play.

Option 3: A day at the pools

  • Modern style.
  • Height transitions.
  • Challenging climbing.
  • Slides associated with formed mound with climbing options.
  • Grouped seesaws.
  • Waves and tunnels.

When you can have your say

You can have your say from 4 March to 30 March 2022.

You can pick up and fill out feedback forms while you swim at Point Erin Pools or you can submit feedback online.

What happens next

  • We will let the Waitematā Local Board know your preferred playground option.
  • We plan to proceed with the playground renewal during winter, when the pool is closed.
