Project WAVE

What’s the project about?

The changes are part of a plan to create a city centre that puts people at the heart, that is greener, safer, and better connected for everyone.

Project WAVE connects two of our busiest cycleways on Quay Street and Nelson Street. It means you can ride safely from the Viaduct, all the way to the Eastern Beaches or West Auckland.

We’re providing more loading zones to make deliveries easier and there are now more places for taxi and rideshare drop-offs.

We want to hear from you

The trial will be in place for at least three months (starting May 2021). During this time, your feedback will help us tweak the design and improve it. Following the trial’s end, Auckland Transport will decide its future, based on public feedback and monitoring. Round one of feedback has closed (Sunday 13 June)

For more detailed project information see our project page: AT.govt.nz/projectWAVE
