Park Reserve playground renewal
We want to upgrade the playground at Park Reserve at 64A Park Road, Glenfield.
We aim to:
- improve the range of play activities for younger children (under 10 years old)
- keep play activities for older children
- fill the gaps in creative and imaginative play.
Background to the project
Kaipātiki Local Board approved the Park Reserve playground renewal as part of its 2023-2024 Community Work Programme.
The project was put on hold in 2023 after the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods. The board has since taken this project off hold in 2025 with expected completion in summer 26/27.
The Kaipātiki Play and SunSmart Provision assessment gave Park Reserve a high priority rating due to its poor overall condition.
What we want your feedback on
We want community feedback on:
- including Māori and Pasifika design elements
- adding shade sails and wet-pour surfacing to improve reserve access.
We also want feedback on the two proposed concept designs.
