Our proposed plans for Papahua
The Regional Capital Investment Work Programme has allocated $5 million to develop a new sports park at Papahua / Belmont Park in Pukekohe.
We are now developing a masterplan to guide long-term improvements and future investment decisions for the park.
The aim of the plan is to provide open access, sport and recreational opportunities to meet the needs of new and future residents.
The masterplan design for the new park considers ways we can reflect cultural heritage and provide a safe and secure environment. It also includes ideas for new facilities, such as:
- shared walking and cycling pathways
- sport, recreation and play opportunities
- picnic, barbecue, hangout spaces
- planting trees and vegetation
- parking areas
- seating and signage.
What we want your feedback on
We want to know:
- how often you will use the new sports park
- which facilities you would prefer at the park, such as:
- sports fields
- an indoor sports facility
- a fenced dog park
- which wheeled play activities you prefer, such as:
- a learn-to-ride track
- a pump track
- a combined skate and pump track
- how we can improve the safety of the park
- anything else you would like us to consider for the park.
We also want to know which playground activities you would prefer at the park, such as:
- swinging
- sliding
- climbing
- spinning
- jumping
- water play
- sand play
- music play
- nature play.
