We are developing a local parks management plan

Ōrakei is developing a local parks management plan for the local board area.

We will be using the statutory consultation process for developing reserve management plans under the Reserves Act 1977 to develop the two plans.

What the plan does

The local parks management plan will:

  • help the local board to make good decisions about how parks are used and protected
  • address what needs to be considered when developing and enhancing our parks
  • be a handshake with the local community to reflect what their needs and aspirations for local parks are.

How the plan will be developed

The local parks management plan will be developed by following the consultation process outlined below.

Phase 1 has been completed and the team are now analysing your feedback and drafting the plan.

Phase 2 will begin early 2021 where you can have your say on the draft plan.

How does this consultation process interact with previous Colin Maiden Park masterplan proposals and objectives?

    Kia ora Sportforall,

    Answer to your question below:

It is intended that the values and principles in the existing master plans the Orakei Local Board has prepared will be incorporated into the local park management plan.

The master plans set out capital investment for the parks and the local park management plans set out how new and existing activities will be managed on the parks.

    Hi Rod,

Mission Bay Bowling club is not included within the scope of Local Parks Management Plan for Orakei Local Board area and for this consultation we need to have public’s opinions on the parks which are within the scope.

However if you have feedback on this area, post it as a comment and we'll see it gets to the right team.
