Consultation has concluded.
We're investigating development options for a new public reserve at 86 Harvest Avenue in Orewa.
According to our Open Space Provision Policy, we have to provide a neighbourhood park within 400m walking distance of high and medium density housing areas.
We purchased the land for a neighbourhood park in 2016/2017 when we built a new subdivision in the area.
Right now, the public reserve at 86 Harvest Avenue consists of an undeveloped grass lot with a footpath connection and does not allow for a great number of recreational activities.
What we want your feedback on
We would like to hear what you would like to see included in the development of this park.
Typical amenities for a neighbourhood park include:
a play space
flat, clear space for informal games
areas for socializing and rest
landscaping and trees
outdoor furniture.
We'd like to know :
how you would like to use the park
what you would like to see developed for informal recreation and play, and for whanau (families) and rangatahi (young people).
When you can have your say
You can have your say from 10 June to 8 July 2022.
What happens next
We will review your feedback and develop a concept design.
The design will be presented to the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board for review from August to October 2022.
