Consultation has concluded

We are developing a masterplan to guide the future use and development of Māngere Centre Park, and we need your feedback

Māngere Centre Park is a 21-hectare park located on the corner of Bader Drive and Robinson Road.

While mainly a sports park, it also provides for informal recreation.

It is home to a number of community providers including:

  • Whare Koa Māngere Community House
  • Māngere Centre Park Sports Association
  • Papatūānuku Kōkiri Marae
  • Manukau Live Steamers
  • Time to Thrive to Stay Alive Trust
  • New Arising Trust
  • Māngere Pukapuka Cricket Club

About the Plan

We're developing a masterplan for Māngere Centre Park. The plan will:

  • guide long-term improvements
  • enhance its natural and cultural values
  • meet community needs
  • provide an investment framework.

Guiding the masterplan are six park objectives:

What we’re proposing

It’s exciting to share that we’re already building a new playground by the main carpark and upgrading the fields by Robertson Road, including the number one field, but we want to do more! Our proposal includes:

  • walking and cycling paths
  • picnic and hangout areas
  • directional and interpretive signage
  • a new toilet next to the new playground
  • a youth zone
  • a community zone
  • reconfiguring and improving the fields

What we want your feedback on

We have prepared a draft masterplan that reflects local board, mana whenua, stakeholder and community input. Now we want to hear what you think about the plan.

We also want to know what you want prioritised as we don’t have the funds to build everything at once.

How you can have your say

There are a number of ways you can provide feedback:

  • Use the online survey on this page.
  • Share your ideas in the Ideas tool below.
  • Attend an open day at Māngere Centre Park on 17 July 11am-1pm or outside the Māngere Town Centre Library on 23 July at 10am-1pm.
  • Fill out a questionnaire at the Whare Koa Māngere Community House or the Māngere Library.

When you can have your say

You can have your say from 1 July until 5pm 8 August 2022.
