In June 2026, we will run another consultation on the full draft Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Plan. We will invite you to give feedback again.

  • Themes from community feedback

    We developed the draft plan using community feedback gathered between November 2025 and March 2026. This included engagement with mana whenua (hapū and iwi with ancestral authority) and mataawaka (people from other iwi). We also received feedback through regional stakeholder hui, Buzzly and other online channels.

What we asked for feedback on

We asked for your feedback to help shape the focus areas for the next three years. Topics included:

  • safer streets and shared spaces
  • local parks, playgrounds and sports facilities
  • town centre upgrades
  • youth programmes
  • climate action and cleaner neighbourhoods
  • supporting our cultural identity and strong communities.

What happens next

We are now reviewing all the feedback we received. Your ideas will:

  • help us understand what matters most to your community
  • shape the priorities and goals that guide future projects and services
  • influence local decision-making before detailed plans are drafted.

We will use this feedback to develop the draft Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Plan 2026.
