About Lloyd Elsmore Park Skatepark upgrade

We are planning to upgrade the skatepark at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga.

We have approved funding for the upgrade to meet the increased demands of skateboarders, BMX riders, rollerbladers and scooter riders in the Howick and Pakuranga area.

The upgrade will also address the needs of both beginner and advanced skaters at the skatepark.

What we are proposing

The skatepark concept design features a more linear style to allow for more skaters and additional park features.

The design also has larger and longer features to challenge intermediate and advanced users.

For beginner users, the design includes a large open flat area so skate clubs and schools can use 'pop-up' skate features for 'learn-to-ride' programmes and classes.

With the skatepark's increased size and range of features, along with the proposed seating and viewing areas, we will promote the updated park for competitions.

Your feedback is important for this planning.

What we want your feedback on

We are seeking feedback on the concept design.

We want to know:

  • what features you like
  • what features you would change
  • any other ideas or feedback for the skatepark upgrade.

How you can have your say

To have your say, you can:

Have your say as part of a group

If you are part of an organisation, discuss the questions as a group and provide one response that shares the thoughts of your group as a whole.

When you can have your say

You can have your say from 22 November until 15 February 2023.

What happens next

We will use your feedback to help us design the skatepark upgrade.
