As part of the Shoreline Adaptation Plan: Waimanawa / Little Shoal Bayconsultation, we received feedback suggesting improvements to the central beach area at Waimanawa / Little Shoal Bay Reserve.

Benefits of the renewal

The renewal will align with the Local Park Management Plan and will:

  • create more recreational activities
  • improve public access to the foreshore and coast
  • support cultural heritage and identity
  • improve the environment in the coastal area.

What we want your feedback on

We want to know:

  • how often you or people in your house use the reserve in summer
  • how do you usually travel to the reserve
  • what is your main activity at the reserve
  • how we can acknowledge and celebrate the rich heritage of Wai Manawa
  • how we can improve access for pedestrians
  • what type of recreational facilities you would like at the reserve
  • anything else you would like us to consider for the renewal.
