This consultation closed on 26 April 2021.
We are working with the Puketāpapa Local Board on an updated plan for the future of Keith Hay Park in Mount Roskill.
This 10-year plan builds on the existing Keith Hay Concept Plan 2012 and work undertaken to improve the park since then.
The refreshed plan proposes actions for future investigation, design, and delivery to improve the experience within this important park.
Park improvements
Actions to improve the park include:
improving path connections to Three Kings United Clubrooms and investigating the future use of former Three Kings United club rooms for community / sport activations
renewing the existing playground
upgrading the toilet block
naturalising Te Auaunga (Oakley Creek) as part of wider stormwater upgrades and including pedestrian bridge connections
enhancing Te Auaunga (Oakley Creek) with plants along the riverbank
a proposed art installation at the future Watercare plant room.
Sportsfield improvements
Actions to improve the sports field include:
improving the surface of the northern sports fields
looking into irrigating the northern sports fields using recycled water from the club building
moving lights closer to realigned sports fields and upgrading them where required
installing perimeter paths around the northern sports fields, including connections to existing walkways and park facilities
improving surfacing of the southern sports fields
providing field numbering signage
investigating water recycling to enable irrigation of sports fields using existing tanks
installing shelter over one of the existing batting cages for cricket.
What we want your feedback on
We want to know what you consider the most important features of the park and which actions from the draft plan you prefer. Before providing your feedback, we recommend you view the refreshed plan.
