Howell Crescent neighbourhood park development
We are planning to develop a new neighbourhood park at 3-7 Howell Crescent, Mt Roskill.
We want to create a welcoming green space that caters for the growing Roskill South community.
Why we want to develop a new park in Mt Roskill
Mt Roskill has limited access to local playgrounds and recreation facilities. The nearest neighbourhood playground is Turners Reserve, 1km away.
A recent study confirmed the need to improve play opportunities for:
- children aged 9–12
- youth aged 13 and older
- families and community gatherings.
Puketāpapa Local Board has already provided feedback and supports this project. We are now talking to the wider community to hear your views on the proposed concept design.
Benefits of the project
Benefits include:
- a new playground designed for a range of ages
- a kick-a-ball area and half basketball court to support active recreation
- a community space with shade, picnic tables and a drinking fountain
- a shared path to improve walking and cycling connections
- more opportunities for families, young people and the wider community to come together.
