We want to revitalise Heard Park, located at the mid-point of Parnell Road, to become the core of the historic Parnell town centre, and the heart of Parnell.

Waitematā Local Board has worked with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and Parnell community stakeholders to develop

a concept plan for Heard Park. The concept plan outlines long-term aspirations for the park, and we need your feedback to make sure we’ve got it right.

Our vision for Heard Park

Our vision for Heard Park is aligned with the vision and objectives of the Parnell Plan.

Heart

Heard Park is revitalised as a dynamic civic space at the heart of Parnell.

Connected

It will:

provide all abilities access

direct people to where they want to go

encourage users to both move through the site, and stay and enjoy the park.

Safe

It will be a safe place for all.

Flexible

It will a space for all members of the community and will enable a range of uses including, markets, events, active and passive recreation.

Character

Existing elements that positively contribute to Parnell's unique environment will be retained, protected and enhanced.

Celebrate

Heard Park will be a space that creatively celebrates Parnell's cultural and historical heritage

What are you providing for children ? Parnell badly lacking play facilities for young children. Important to keep the swings . !! Lots of grandparents live in the vicinity of Heard Park and need a good playground to entertain under 6 year olds particularly.

Hi, is there a map or some sort of concept illustration? The concept plan as presented lacks any sort of detail and the vague information given aren't concepts really, for example 'Connected' is only a word not a concept in terms of a park. The terms offered are truly meaningless. Where can more tangible information be found?
