This consultation closed on 28 November 2021. Thank you for having your say.
We received:
47 pieces of feedback on Green Bay Domain playground
20 pieces of feedback on Temuka Gardens playground renewal.
These came from our online survey.
The majority of feedback was submitted by families who use the current playspace weekly or more frequently.
Key feedback themes
Climbing, swinging and natural play were the most popular play elements people would like to see at Green Bay Domain.
Sliding, climbing and swinging were the top three popular play elements that people would like to see at Temuka Gardens.
70 per cent of the feedback supported adding a basketball half-court within Green Bay Domain.
Changes made as a result of your feedback
Climbing, swinging and natural play will now be included at Green Bay Domain as part of the playspace renewal.
We have considered introducing a basketball half-court at a later stage to Green Bay Domain. A separate concept plan has been prepared for future development.
Sliding and climbing will be included at Temuka Garden as part of the playspace renewal. The existing swing set will be retained in its current position.
What happens next
Both concept plans have been adopted by Whau Local Board.
A more detailed design is currently under way.
Construction is planned for the summer of 2022-2023.

We recognise the importance of play and its contribution to the physical and social development of children and are seeking feedback on the proposed redevelopment of the playspace within Temuka Gardens.
We are seeking your feedback on what you like to see on the playground as part of the renewal works. Let us know how you are using the reserve area and what are your favourite playground elements.
