Thank you for having your say.

We received 61 pieces of feedback. Two were paper feedback forms; the rest came through conversations at our drop-in sessions.

The drop-in sessions were held on:

  • Saturday 22 February 2025
  • Friday 4 April 2025.

Key feedback themes

  • The main reason people visit Fergusson Domain is to use the playground, exercise or walk a dog.
  • People supported the removal of Fergusson Hall.
  • People strongly supported closing the park road.
  • They also supported closing the Hull Road walkway.
  • People strongly supported the idea of a community garden.
  • They also wanted a public toilet.

Decisions we made as a result of your feedback.

Because of your feedback, we removed the proposed changes to the park road from the concept plan. We will investigate further before making changes.

We are also looking into adding a public toilet to the park near the playground.

During our consultation, 91 per cent of respondents said they either supported all or most of the priorities in the draft concept plan.

This suggests the plan fits well with what the local community wants for the space.

What happens next

Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board adopted the plan on 22 July 2025.
