What we have done

A high-level summary of public feedback (from both Have Your Say consultation and the People’s Panel survey) was shared with all local boards in May 2022. Local boards received additional information on public, stakeholder and mana whenua views in June 2022.

What happens next

Feedback was also sought through a People’s Panel survey, which ran from 7 to 12 April 2022. A total of 1,070 responses were received.

In addition, we sought feedback from:

  • local boards
  • mana whenua
  • leaseholders
  • the golf sector
  • the sport and recreation sector.

Consultation has now concluded.

Auckland Council Governing Body’s decision on next steps

Staff considered all feedback on the draft plan and presented a report to the Parks, Arts, Community and Events Committee. The report can be found here. It includes a summary of the feedback, proposed responses and proposed next steps.

At its meeting on 22 September 2022, the Parks, Arts, Community and Events Committee agreed to changes to the draft plan and decided to set up a joint political working group in the new term to input on changes to the draft plan for further consultation.

A copy of the decision is available here at Item 10.

Further consultation on the amended draft plan is likely to take place in the first half of 2023. Updates will be posted on this page.
