About the Colin Dale Kartsport Development Charitable Trust

The Colin Dale Kartsport Development Charitable Trust is a not-for-profit entity established to promote and support wheeled pastimes in a safe and controlled environment. The trust has taken over the development of a go-karting facility at Colin Dale Park in Wiri from KartSport Manukau Incorporated.

The trust is now able to establish the facility at Colin Dale Park on land originally set aside for lease by Auckland Radio Car Control Club Incorporated. The two clubs have worked together on the development plan and formalising an agreement for both clubs to operate from the site.

The trust needs an agreement to lease with Auckland Council to commence with fundraising.

About the agreement

Under Section 119 of the Reserves Act, 1977, Auckland Council intends to grant a new community agreement to lease and subsequent lease for 93,130 square meters (more or less) of land at Colin Dale Park, 87R Prices Road, Wiri.

The land is legally described as Section 1 SO 422986.

The tenant is The Colin Dale Park Kartsport Development Charitable Trust; the trust will develop the allocated land at the park into a track for karts and other wheeled sports and facilities for radio control cars.

The proposed new community agreement to lease will expire on 31 May 2025. This will give the trust time to gain resource and building consents, confirm funding for the development works and gain landlord approval of the final design plans. The resulting lease will be for a term of 10 years with one right of renewal of 10 years for the group-owned assets, as outlined in the Auckland Council’s Community Occupancy Guidelines 2012.
