The plaza is a large public space in the heart of Henderson, often used as connection point between Henderson town centre and WestCity Waitakere shopping centre.

Eke Panuku Development Auckland (a council-controlled urban regeneration organisation) wants to refresh Catherine Plaza into a safe and inviting area to encourage the community and visitors to spend more time there.

About the refresh project

The refreshed plaza will support Henderson’s growing population and local businesses, and help the town centre to thrive.

It will provide:

  • a welcoming space for the community and visitors
  • a safe meeting point
  • a flexible space for events
  • outdoor dining spaces
  • a public space unique to Henderson.

What we want your feedback on

We want to know what you think will help make Catherine Plaza a great community space.

  • What would encourage you and your whānau to use this space more often?
  • Would you like to see more plants and trees?
  • Do you think better lighting would improve the plaza?
  • What type of events would you attend at the plaza?

We've developed some design themes in the consultation material attached (to the right) to act as a guide and are now seeking your ideas and thoughts to improve this space.
