Key feedback themes

Play space and reserve use 

Feedback showed how often people use the reserve and play space in the summer.

  • Daily - 15 per cent.
  • A couple of times a week - 32 per cent.
  • Weekly - 9 per cent.
  • Monthly - 17 per cent. 
  • A few times a year - 11 per cent.
  • Less often or never - 13 per cent.
  • Do not know - 3 per cent.

 

Travelling to the reserve

The feedback also showed how people travel to the reserve:

  • Walk - 60 per cent.
  • Drive - 10 per cent. 
  • Cycle - 8 per cent.
  • Scooter - 3 per cent.
  • Bus - 1 per cent.

 

Main activities

Feedback showed the most popular equipment and activities at the reserve are:

  • the children's play area
  • swings
  • walking
  • basketball.

 

What people want to see added to the reserve

We received a lot of feedback about improvements, new activities and equipment people would like at the reserve.

The most popular were:

  • more play equipment for toddlers and younger kids 
  • balance equipment
  • climbing and crawling activities
  • spinning
  • water play
  • slide
  • natural play like logs, boulders and trees
  • soccer goal
  • upgraded hoop area
  • more seating and shaded areas
  • picnic tables
  • cycle path and access path through the park
  • more sport activities for older kids
  • fruit trees.

 

Changes made based on the feedback

We used the feedback to make changes to the reserve, including:

  • an improved hoop area
  • a new soccer goal
  • a picnic bench and more seating
  • a space for older kids
  • trees for shade
  • more fruit trees
  • a new path around the reserve
  • footpath access
  • a swing set for younger and older children
  • balancing equipment
  • a slide and trampoline.
