Thank you to those who took part in our budget simulation trial, we are working through the data and will report back soon with the results. In the meantime, here's what we know from the numbers:

  • 35% of participants went on to submit a balanced budget - 132 in total
  • participants spent on average 7 minutes and 55 seconds on the site - that's almost 48 hours of collective time spent!

We will contact those who provided an email address once the results are posted on the site.

Why can’t I choose to recycle significantly (ie order of magnitude or so) more capital? Eg Ports ownership? Capital markets are at highs... now would be an awesome time to list!

What is a screen name? asked about 1 month ago

Thanks for your question. The asset recycling proposed for this 10-year Budget relates to non-strategic surplus property assets. Assets such as the council’s shareholdings in Auckland Airport and Ports of Auckland are considered to be important strategic assets for Auckland and the council is not currently proposing to dispose of any of these kinds of major assets
