This consultation closed on 18 April 2021. Thank you for having your say.

We received four submissions through our online survey.

Three supported the proposal and one was against.

We contacted 13 iwi who were impacted by the proposal. Nine iwi did not respond.

Key feedback themes

  • No iwi voiced any objection to the proposed land exchange.
  • One person objected on the grounds that the proposed new open space would be enclosed within the future development.

Changes made as a result of feedback

Section 15 of the Reserves Act 1977 requires us to consider the objections to any land exchange.

We have considered this objection and rejected it as the proposed land exchange would increase:

  • access
  • road frontage
  • sightlines into the open space.

What happens next

Next steps are for the Whau Local Board to finalise design plans for the new pocket park and accessway.
