We received 22 pieces of feedback from the public through our online feedback form.

Key feedback themes

We asked for feedback on two designs for the renewed playground.

The feedback showed that most people preferred design option 2 for its:

  • better range of activities
  • more challenging activities
  • activities for children of different ages.

Feedback also showed people prefer designs that:

  • are more interesting and unique
  • provide play options for different age groups
  • provide enough space between activity centers
  • use more natural materials like wood instead of plastic.

What happened and what will happen next

We presented your feedback to the Devonport and Takapuna Local Board in September 2024. The local board approved the proposed option 2 design for the playground renewal and requested to add a shade sail.

We have now completed the detailed design for the playground based on your feedback and feedback from the local board.

We aim to begin the renewal in February 2025.
