Area plans review for Māngere and surrounding neighbourhoods

Over the next 30 years, Māngere and the surrounding neighbourhoods are expected to see significant growth and change.

This means there will be a lot more houses and more people living and working in the area.

What is the area plan about

We want to make sure we plan for what the existing and new communities will need in the next 30 years.

To help support the changes that will come with more people and further development, we want your input on how we should update parts of the existing Māngere-Ōtāhuhu and Ōtara-Papatoetoe area plans.

This will help us identify projects and priorities for investment to guide our planning and decision-making.

What do you want feedback on

This is the second phase of public consultation about updating the area plans.

It is important that we get the outcomes and key move right for both the draft area plan updates. We would like to know what you think about the outcomes and key move and whether you think they are right to ensure that change happens and is supported in a way that is best for the area over the next 30 years.

This will help us fine-tune the updated area plans before finalising them later this year.

You can view the draft outcomes and maps in the engagement summary booklet and see the draft area plans on the right-hand side of or Documents tab for more information.

How can you have your say

Māngere-Ōtāhuhu and Ōtara-Papatoetoe local boards would like to invite you to online session to share with you what we're proposing.

You will be able to talk with local board members, mana whenua and council planners at the event about what it means for you and your area.

You would also be able to provide your feedback.

This will help us identify projects and priorities for investment to guide our planning and decision-making.
