Built environment
What we are planning for our built environment in the Annual Plan 2025/2026.
In the 2025/2026 financial year, we plan to:
- work with Kāingā Ora, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and other central government agencies to progress infrastructure investment in Māngere, Tāmaki and Mt Roskill
- progress works in the city centre like Te Hā Noa – Victoria Street project to maximise benefits of opening the City Rail Link (expected in 2026)
- progress a masterplan to:
- develop the central wharves into spaces for the public to enjoy
- develop a harbourfront with facilities where ferry services, cruise ships and Port of Auckland Limited operations can operate safely and efficiently, and reduce disruptions to passengers
- continue to regenerate our neighbourhoods in key areas like Wynyard Quarter, the city centre, Takapuna, Northcote, Henderson, Avondale and Manukau.
